What is Dance Marathon?
Dance Marathon is student-run philanthropy on over 90 college campuses across the country that raises money for Children’s Miracle Network. College of Charleston’s first Dance Marathon was held the night of February 9th, 2007. After just one year, Dance Marathon became the largest philanthropic event at the College of Charleston, raising over $20,000 for MUSC Children’s Hospital. Each student participant pledges to raise $150 through various fundraising activities throughout the semester, which will lead up to the night of the event when students will stay up for 15 hours to celebrate the lives of children! Bands, entertainers, games, and food will fill the night, but the most memorable times occur when the patients and their families share their stories of struggle and triumph. We need the help of students across campus to make Dance Marathon a continued success!
